Built in 1972 as a private presidential retreat, the Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge was transformed to create a spectacular “turn of the century” safari lodge that blends in with the breathtaking surrounds of the South Luangwa National Park. Guests can unwind in one of 10 Victorian-style suites, which are perched on a hillside to make the most of the spectacular park views. Each suite has a lovely ensuite bathroom, and is furnished with a personal bar and mosquito netting.

Tantalising menus are served in the elegant dining room or al fresco on the sprawling veranda and boma area. A sparkling swimming pool and a beautiful boutique store are also available for guests’ enjoyment. Adventures include twice-daily game drives (including spotlit night drives) in open 4x4 safari vehicles and guided safari walks.
