DAY 1 & 2: SOUTH LUANGWA - NKWALI CAMP

Fly from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport to Mfuwe Airport, where you will be met and driven to Nkwali Camp.

Renowned as one of Africa's greatest wildlife sanctuaries, South Luangwa National Park is home to an abundance of game, which frequents the Luangwa River and its oxbow lagoons. The Luangwa River is the most intact river system in Africa and is the lifeblood of the park's 9 050 km². South Luangwa is also the birthplace of the walking safari - one of the best ways to get up close and personal with the park's pristine wilderness, which boasts 60 different animal species and over 400 different birds. Hippo wallow in the river, while large herds of elephant, some up to 70 strong, and the mighty buffalo wander the plains.

Spend two nights in a bamboo and thatch chalet Nkwali Camp.  Your stay includes three meals daily, local drinks, house wines, laundry, park fees and daily adventures. Adventures include twice-daily game drives (including spotlit night drives) in open 4x4 safari vehicles, guided walking safaris and an excursion to Kawaza village.

Day 3 - 5: South Luangwa - Tena Tena / Nsefu Camp

Enjoy a leisurely morning game drive to the banks of the Luangwa River, where a banana boat will be waiting to take you across the river.

Relax on the eastern bank of the river for three nights at your choice of:

  • A spacious tent at Tena Tena, enjoying a daily selection of guided bush walks, game drives or full-day game viewing excursions
  • A rondavel at Nsefu Camp, enjoying a daily selection of games drives, bush walks or a full-day picnic drive to the salt pans

Your stay includes three meals daily, local drinks, house wines, laundry, park fees and lodge activities.

Day 6: Departure

Take a final game drive through the Park before returning to Mfuwe Airport for your scheduled flight back to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
