Legend of the Nyaminyami
Fly-in safari, 7 days / 6 nights
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This adventure begins and ends in Victoria Falls.
DAY 1 - 2: HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
On
arrival at Victoria Falls Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a
member of the &Beyond team, who will assist you to the vehicle for
your drive to Hwange National Park.
The elephant stronghold of Hwange, Zimbabwe's largest national park, is a game-rich area roughly the size of the Bahamas. It was once the royal hunting grounds of the Ndebele warrior king Mzilikazi. Hwange was proclaimed a national park in 1929. Visitors can explore a variety of landscapes, from desert sands and sparse woodland to grasslands and rocky outcrops. Vast herds of elephant and buffalo, gemsbok and packs of brown hyena, as well as one of the largest surviving populations of wild dog, can be found in this pristine slice of wilderness.
Spend two nights in a luxury tent at The Hide Safari Camp.
Your stay includes three meals daily, local drinks, game activities,
tea, coffee and laundry. Adventures include twice-daily game drives,
guided bush walks and exceptional game viewing in the seclusion of the
camp's hides.
Day 3 - 4: Lake Kariba
After
a delicious breakfast you will be driven back to Victoria Falls
Airport, where a member of the &Beyond team will be waiting to help
you board a light aircraft flight to Bumi Hills.
Stretching
over 300 kms (185 miles) in length and covering an area of 5 000 square
kilometers (1 930 square miles), the manmade Lake Kariba is a veritable
inland sea located on the mighty Zambezi River. Flanked on all sides by
pristine nature reserves, this exceptional water mass is home to a
diversity of game, fish and birdlife. Enjoy many a memorable moment on
the lake, from fishing for the powerful tiger off a houseboat to game
viewing by boat or on a walking safari.
Relax for two nights in a luxury room with a private veranda and exceptional lake views at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge.
Your stay includes all meals, drinks, up to three adventures per day,
tea and coffee, government tourism levy and laundry. Adventures include
game viewing in open 4x4 safari vehicles, on foot or by boat, sunset
cruises, birdwatching, hide sits and fishing.
Day 5 - 6: Victoria Falls
Fly
back to Victoria Falls Airport, where a friendly welcome awaits from a
member of the &Beyond team, who will drive you to your lodge.
Declared a World Heritage Site, Victoria Falls is one of the world's greatest natural spectacles. Long before Scottish missionary and explorer Dr David Livingstone discovered the Falls in 1855, the local Batonga people had named the Mosi-oa-Tunya, 'the smoke that thunders'. Livingstone named them for his queen. Today, the nearby village rightly claims the title of Adrenalin Capital of Africa, home to a seemingly endless variety of adventure sports from bungee jumping to canoeing and white water rafting.
Indulge in two nights in a luxury tented suite with a private viewing deck and plunge pool at The Elephant Camp. Your stay includes all meals, local drinks and an opportunity to interact with the elephants at Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary. Various adventures, such as helicopter flights,
bungee jumping, white water rafting and scenic tours are available in
nearby Victoria Falls at an additional cost.
Day 7: Departure
You will be driven back to Victoria Falls Airport, where your safari with us will end.
