Day by Day - Migration, Lake & Crater

This safari begins and ends at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya.

DAY 1 - 2: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE, KENYA

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will drive you to Wilson Airport, from where a light aircraft flight will take you to the Masai Mara. Enjoy your first game drive en route to the camp.

Kenya's most renowned game park, the Masai Mara is situated on the northern border of the Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania. Its legendary Great Migration of over two million wildebeest and other antelope has been described as one of nature's greatest wildlife spectacles. Game viewing is wonderful year round, with virtually guaranteed sightings of the Big Five.  

Spend two nights in a luxurious safari tent at Bateleur Camp at &Beyond Kichwa Tembo. Adventures include twice-daily game drives, night drives, guided nature walks and sundowners overlooking the Mara.

Day 3 - 4: Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania

Return to the airstrip for a flight to Wilson Airport, where you will clear customs before continuing to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania. From there, another flight will take you to Lake Manyara Airstrip.

The diverse habitats of Lake Manyara National Park range from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides, an ideal safari destination for those on honeymoon. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and vast elephant herds. The shores of the lake, encrusted with pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of birds. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe and impala roam the lake shores and valley slopes.

Relax for two nights in an intimate treehouse at &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. Adventures include twice-daily game drives.   

Day 5 - 6: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Return to Manyara Airstrip for a flight to another airstrip in the Serengeti.

The Serengeti National Park is one of the world's most celebrated wilderness areas. It is renowned as the site of the Great Migration, when over two million antelope move through the reserve. This epic, seasonal journey is a deeply moving experience, adding to the rich resident game of this spectacular reserve.

Indulge in two nights at your choice of:

• A thatched stone cottage at &Beyond Klein’s Camp. Adventures include twice-daily game drives and nature walks  
  
• A flamboyant tent at &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp, with twice daily game drives
• A luxury tent at a private wilderness campsite at &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas, including twice-daily game drives      
  

Day 7 - 8: Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Return to the airstrip for yet another flight, this time to Manyara Airstrip, where a member of the &Beyond team will be waiting to drive you to the lodge.

A unique and incredibly romantic safari destination, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to more than 30 000 protected animals. The Ngorongoro Crater, once a gigantic volcano, is the largest intact caldera in existence. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the world's most beautiful wildlife havens. Black rhino are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephant wander the forests, black maned lions stalk the grasslands and flamingo crowd the soda lakes.

Enjoy two nights in an intimate suite at &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, with a daily game drive on the Crater floor and incredibly romantic views for miles. 

Day 9: Departure

You will be driven back to Manyara Airstrip for a flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will clear customs and immigration before flying to Wilson Airport. A vehicle will be waiting to take you to a hotel in Nairobi, where you can freshen up before returning to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
