Day by Day - Grand South Africa Safari

This safari begins at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and ends at Cape Town International Airport.

DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG

On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will assist you through passport control and baggage claim and drive you to your hotel.

The suburb of Sandton boasts upmarket shopping outlets, exclusive residential areas, boutique stores and first-class eateries. Towering Manhattan-style skyscrapers dot this vibrant city, once a sleepy area with agricultural smallholdings and sandy horse trails.

Spend the night in an Egoli Suite at the Saxon Boutique Hotel & Spa. Your stay includes breakfast.

Day 2 - 3: &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve

Return to OR Tambo International Airport for a light aircraft flight to &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve.

Sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park, &Beyond Ngala is home to a diversity of wildlife, including elephant, spotted hyena, giraffe, buffalo and white rhino. Ngala means lion in Shangaan and the reserve supports several prides of these powerful cats. It is also known for leopard and wild dog sightings.  

Relax for two nights at &Beyond Ngala Tented Camp. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives, nature walks (subject to availability) and laundry. 

Day 4 - 5: &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve

Yet another light aircraft flight will take you to &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve.

Set within easy reach of the Indian Ocean coastline, &Beyond Phinda is known for its abundant wildlife, diverse habitats and range of activities. The reserve contains seven distinct ecosystems, which shelters exceptional wildlife, including the Big Five, the elusive cheetah and the scarce black rhino. Scuba diving, fishing and even turtle watching are available at nearby Sodwana Bay.

Indulge in two nights in a suite at Phinda Vlei Lodge. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, emergency medical evacuation, laundry and daily lodge adventures. Adventures include twice daily game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, nature walks and riverboat cruises.

Day 6 - 7: Cape Town

A light aircraft flight will take you to King Shaka (Durban) International Airport, where you will catch a scheduled domestic flight to Cape Town. On arrival, a member of the &Beyond team will drive you to your hotel.

With Table Mountain at its heart and two oceans at its feet, the city of Cape Town is situated at the south-western tip of Africa. Vibrant, cosmopolitan and an eclectic mix of old and new, this laid-back city is as much at home with its 17th century castle as it is with its sleek skyscrapers and trendy malls.

Linger for two nights in a sea view suite at Ellerman House. Your stay includes breakfast, laundry, teas, coffees, spirits and beer, a fully stocked in-room bar, guest pantry with snacks, sunset cocktails, broadband wireless internet access and 23-hour security.

Day 8: Departure

You will be driven to Cape Town International Airport, where your adventure with us will end.
