DAY 1 - 3: MALINDI

On arrival at Malindi Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will drive you to Hemingway's Resort.

Located north of Mombasa Island, Malindi boasts a rich history that dates back to the 13th century. Overlooking Malindi Bay, the town's white, sandy beach stretches an astonishing 7 km (4 miles). A casino, nightclubs, ancient mosques, a colourful market, a nine hole golf course and the renowned Malindi Marine National Park all add to the area's many attractions, as does the fish market and fishing club, from which stalwarts from all over the world set out in search of the giants of the deep. Kenya holds several world records for big game fish and it was here that Ernest Hemingway lingered in the 1930s to enjoy his favourite sport.

Spend three nights at Hemingway's Resort. Your stay includes breakfast and dinner, as well as return transportation from Malindi Airport, snorkelling trips to the Marine Park and a day trip to Malindi and Gede Ruins. Adventures include swimming, walking, snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking, fly-fishing and scuba diving. All scuba diving and snorkelling equipment is provided, and a variety of diving course and deep sea fishing expeditions is available at an additional charge.
