Fly-In Safari 10 Days / 9 Nights
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This safari begins and ends at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
DAY 1: NAIROBI
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will drive you to the Tribe Hotel, where you will spend the night. Your stay includes bed and breakfast.
Kenya's capital, Nairobi is the
port of entry for most travellers and offers bustling markets,
an interesting history and numerous attractions. Named after a Maasai
watering hole, 'enkare nyarobi', which means 'place of cool waters', the city is known for its leafy streets and parks, as well as for its
towering skyscrapers and imposing architecture.
Day 2 - 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be driven to Wilson Airport, where you will board a flight
to Kichwa Airstrip. From there, a 10-minute game drive will take
you to the camp.
Kenya's most renowned game park, the Masai Mara is situated on the
northern border of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. Its legendary
Great Migration of over two million wildebeest and other antelope has
been described as one of nature's greatest wildlife spectacles. Game viewing in this celebrated park is wonderful year
round, with virtually guaranteed sightings of the Big Five. The park
takes its name from the Mara River, which flows through the reserve,
and the Maasai people, a well-known tribe with a distinctive red dress and proud demeanour.
Spend three nights in a classic safari tent at &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, teas and coffees, two scheduled game drives per day, transport to and from the airstrip and emergency medical evacuation insurance.
Day 5 - 6: Samburu National Park
You will return to the airstrip, where you will board a flight to Samburu. On arrival, a short drive will take you to camp.
The best feature of Samburu National Park is not the wildlife or the picturesque surroundings, but the fact that it is one of Kenya's lesser visited regions. The peaceful atmosphere and authentic wilderness experience set it apart from the better known wilderness reserves. Situated along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River, with its palm groves and dense forests, there is plentiful wildlife and the bird watching is especially good. The rest of the reserve is fairly hot and semi-arid, making for easy game viewing.
Enjoy two nights in an ensuite tent at Larsens Camp. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, pre-dinner hot/cold canapes in the lounge, one bubbly breakfast on the lawn/riverbed, mineral water in the tent, soft drinks, beers, house wines and non-luxury spirits, a sundowner on the first night, two pieces of laundry per person per stay, return transport to the airstrip and two game drives per day.
Day 7 - 9: Tsavo National Park
After breakfast, you will be driven back to the airstrip, where you will board a charter flight to Tsavo West National Park.
Combined, Tsavo East and West is Kenya's biggest national park and one of the world's largest game sanctuaries. It is known for its huge herds of elephant and captivating landscapes. One of the less populated game areas in Kenya, Tsavo offers a pristine wildlife experience. The spectacular Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear water flows through volcanic rock, are a highlight of the area.
Experience three nights in a luxury tent at Finch Hattons. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, return transport from the airstrip and two game drives daily.
Day 10: Departure
A flight will take you back to Wilson Airport. A vehicle will be waiting to take you to Jomo
Kenyatta International Airport, where your safari with us will end.
