Tell us about your journey and your thoughts and impressions of Africa.
It is always a pleasure to receive feedback on how the &Beyond experience has touched our guests. For many of them, a life-long love affair with Africa's wide open spaces and its incredible wildlife has started at one of our lodges across the continent. Others have formed lasting friendships with the warm and welcoming &Beyonders they have met on safari. Here is just a sample of the incredible comments we have been receiving from our guests staying at Kirkman's Kamp.
Steffenson, Sheila - Best vacation adventure ever!

BEST VACATION ADVENTURE EVER!

STEFFENSON, SHEILA
"Our time at Kirkman's was unparalleled! We spent 4 nights there and each day brought new sights and adventure."
Our Ranger and tracker were both spot on and made our excursions educational, exciting and totally enjoyable. The food surpassed our expectation as did the service of all the staff! We cannot stop raving about our time there! Thanks to all at Kirkman's!

FLYING LEGS AND LEAPING LIONS

BILL AND KAREN, BOULDER, COLORADO
"We spent two days at Kirkman's Kamp adjacent to the Kruger National Park, where our guide was Grant and tracker was Ekson; our butler was Sonny Boy. This was an entirely different experience from Phinda but equally thrilling. The first evening we were there Grant found a young male leopard in a tree. The light was perfect, the animal stunning."
Grant was both very knowledgeable and excited about searching out game. We forded rivers and crashed though the brush in the Land Rover, having as much fun searching for the animals as in finding them. The next morning we enjoyed a 'bush breakfast', then found ourselves in the midst of 3 lionesses that were hunting. We saw one lioness and the head of a giraffe, then suddenly dozens of impala and eight giraffes were coming in our direction flanked by two more lionesses that were trying to get a young giraffe. Flying legs and leaping lions - it was astounding. I should note that we saw the Big Five in our first 24 hours at Kirkman's. The next morning brought us a perfect view of an elephant at sunrise. The contrast of luxury and wildness, fine cuisine and elemental experience, the genteel and the primal was sometimes disorienting but always amazing.
Pain, Jenny - Introduction to Africa

INTRODUCTION TO AFRICA

PAIN, JENNY
"My first major overseas trip was to South Africa with my friend Elaine who has travelled to Africa on many occasions. Elaine planned the whole trip and I just tagged along. Well, the first safari that I experienced was at the wonderful Kirkmans Kamp. From the time that we arrived at the camp until the time that we left, I was made to feel so welcome and like part of the Kirkmans family."
The accommodation was absolute first class, the meals were AAA quality and each and every one of the staff that we came in contact with made you feel like you were the most special person in the camp. It broke my heart to leave after two nights, but I was going onto experience another &Beyond Camp at Ngala so that made it just a little easier. To all those who contributed to making my stay so special I say thanks, I will always remember you and I will be back to show my family just how special you all are. Love Jenny xxxxxx

Van Dyne, Lisa - Kirkman Kamp Adventure

KIRKMAN KAMP ADVENTURE

VAN DYNE, LISA
"I traveled to Kirkman's Kamp after first visiting &Beyond in Ngala with five friends to celebrate a 50th birthday. The two camps could not be more different. Ngala is family-style camp and Kirkman's has a more adult feel to it. Duncan, the GM went above and beyond for me - I broke my arm at Ngala and he met me at half way and took me to the hospital at Nelsprit and then back to the camp. Yes, I kept going! And yes, there are still knights in shining armor - they just live in Africa!"
Kirkman's was much more alive with animals - we had hippo and hyena in camp with us - along with an assortment of monkey, kudo and steenbuck - so you really had to keep your wits about you at all times! There were at least two prides of lions that we ran into one younger then the other, both fabulous to watch. As well as leopard, which we did not find at Ngala! The morning of my friend's 50th birthday the staff came out with pancakes and sparklers and sang him the most beautiful African birthday song. We wanted them to go on and on. Their voices were such a rare treat! The guides and trackers here were equally filled with information about the jungle, the animals and their habitats and shared all kinds of stories with us. Dalson was our Guide and was really a fascinating guy - and very funny too! Again, I'd recommend Kirkman's to anyone, just not little kids, I think 10 and up is perfect. Thank you all so much for a vacation I'll never forget. Warmest regards, Lisa
