FLIGHTS

An air charter can be arranged to the Skukuza airstrip within the Kruger National Park, where a safari vehicle will be standing by to transport you directly to Kirkman’s Kamp. The flight time from Johannesburg to Skukuza is approximately one and a half hours. Flights directly to the game reserve are generally scheduled for the morning or early afternoon to allow arriving guests to enjoy an afternoon game drive on their day of arrival. Please note that luggage is generally limited to 20 kg per person.  

Transfers

Kirkman’s Kamp is located within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in Mpumalanga. It is possible to get to the area from Johannesburg by road or by air. Guests have a choice of flying to Nelspruit or Hoedspruit, which is followed by a road transfer to Kirkman’s Kamp. The distance between Nelspruit and Kirkman’s Kamp is approximately 150 km (90 miles) and the road transfer takes an hour and 45 minutes. Hoedspruit is approximately a 3 hour drive from Kirkman's Kamp.  

Self Drive

Should you prefer to travel by road, the drive from Johannesburg to Kirkman’s Kamp is approximately 500 km (310 miles) and takes five to six hours. All except the last 10 km (six miles) of the road is tarred.
