The staff at Dulini arranged for a private intimate lunch for us out in the bush on a dry riverbed. Our butler was waiting there with a beautifully set table, complete with champagne and our usual drinks of preference. The setting was exquisite! There was a beautifully laid table on top of a gorgeous Persian rug. I also loved the candlelit bubble bath on our last evening! On the return from our evening game drive we were met with steaming mugs of soup, and the traditional singing and dancing of the locals. The game viewing was also superb! We saw everything in two drives, including an albino impala and a leopard kill. I cannot stress strongly enough that a holiday at any &Beyond lodge is by far superior to any five star international establishment and this includes the food!

The actual safari part was incredible. On the first day we got to see a leopard (the one animal I'd not been able to see on my only previous safari type trip in Sri Lanka) and we saw not just the one, but her now partially independent daughter as well. Fabulous! Things only got better after that, as we then got to see the mother's three cubs. I came wanting to see a leopard and the ranger and tracker were almost able to deliver them on demand. Now we're just trying to work out when we can return.

"The date was the 27th July, 2007. My then boyfriend surprised me with a magical weekend at Dulini Lodge. I have been to &Beyond lodges before (Phinda and Madikwe), so my expectations were very high on arrival. EVERYTHING was perfect - from the moment we arrived at the lodge. We were spoiled rotten - by every person there."
The food, the game drives, the quality of the service and the most extreme luxury at Dulini was unbelievable. I didn't want our weekend to ever end! From bubble baths run after the game drive to champagne and dinner set up in the room, and the hot water bottles in the bed - no effort was spared. On the Sunday we were due to leave, we went on our game drive. On the way back to the lodge, our ranger, Kerry, stopped to ask us if we wanted to go on a short bush walk back to Dulini and we said sure. We walked about 100 meters and, as we turned the corner, there was the most exquisitely beautiful breakfast spread at a lookout point. My heart skipped a beat when my now husband turned to me and said, "will you spend the rest of my life with me?" and asked me to marry him. I was blown away! The whole of Dulini had been in on the proposal the whole weekend. They made every effort to make it the most amazing weekend of my life. I can truly say that there is no better holiday or engagement proposal than an &Beyond one - thank you for all the amazing experiences.
