Tell us about your journey and your thoughts and impressions of Africa.
It is always a pleasure to receive feedback on how the &Beyond experience has touched our guests. For many of them, a life-long love affair with Africa's wide open spaces and its incredible wildlife has started at one of our lodges across the continent. Others have formed lasting friendships with the warm and welcoming &Beyonders they have met on safari. Here is just a sample of the incredible comments we have been receiving from our guests staying at Phinda Private Game Reserve.

MY PHINDA DREAM

"I arrived at Phinda knowing that I would experience something special. I left Phinda with the feeling that I couldn't wait to come back to this special place."
My stay at Forest Lodge was magical and dream like. It is amazing to know that there are people out there who care so much and are willing to create these marvelous places. Respect for nature is key and the staff of Forest Lodge at Phinda re-inforced this. What an amazing place!

OUR WEDDING

NISHANA SAMAN
"We were living in England but planning a traditional Indian wedding in Durban in December 2005. We visited Durban in June 2005 and decided that we should have the civil ceremony at that time. As our time in Durban was so short and we had already booked to spend the weekend at Phinda, we suddenly realised that we did not have enough time to get hold of a reverend to perform the ceremony."
We were leaving for England immediately after our weekend at Phinda. My fiance (at that time) had the brilliant idea that we should get married at Phinda. I called Phinda and they gave us the name of a local reverend who was able to perform the ceremony. We had an early morning game drive and then got married on the veranda of our lodge. It was a very private and beautiful setting. The staff at Phinda were amazing and respected the fact that we wanted it to be private.

"We visited Kwandwe this year and, while it was lovely, our hearts belong to Phinda."
Everything at Phinda was perfect, from the 'glass boxes' to the game and the food. But the most important ingredient were the people who worked there, from the cleaners to the waiters, chefs and rangers, everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and always had a smile on their faces. The whole package was awesome.

"Aside from the beautiful lodge, wonderful and seemingly never-ending food, the staff almost eclipsed the wildlife."
Quentin, a game ranger, and Mark, one of the managers, really stood out. Even the cleaning staff seemed genuinely interested in making my stay that much better. Sightings of the lions from what seemed like an arm's length away completed a fantastic bush break.

"I have been to Phinda four times and each time has been a new and different experience."
Little surprises like "miniature bunny chows" with sundowners, bushlit dinners and bubble baths are what make Phinda so very special. I have never failed to see spectacular game - not just the Big Five, but special frogs, birds and even a huge forest cobra once. The knowledge of the rangers is incredible and educational, whilst still retaining a really fun, friendly and safe atmosphere. Truly professional, thank you!
