Beach Romance at Phinda Private Game Reserve

The vast sandy beaches of the Maputaland coastline provide a beautiful setting for a ½ day beach outing, where guests can soak up the sun, splash in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, relax with a book, play beach games such as bat and ball, take uninterrupted walks along the shore or snorkel alongside Jesser Point where you will find an array of colourful marine fish within this protected marine reserve.

Tailormade photographic safaris are led by an expert ranger specialising in photography, who will help guests get the wildlife shot of a lifetime by providing advice on shutter speed, lenses, filters, angles and lighting. The use of a private safari vehicle allows guests to target specific species and to spend as much time as desired on their photography. This safari is offered at &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve, &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve and &Beyond Kirkman’s Kamp.

This fascinating guided tour explores a local breeding centre for South Africa’s endangered wild cat species, namely the caracal (lynx), African wild cat, serval and cheetah. Guests are escorted through this local rehabilitation and breeding centre, within individual animal enclosures, where they can view and photograph these remarkable wild cats up close.

Drift in the warm currents of the Indian Ocean as you swim alongside the largest fish in the sea. Accompanied by a skipper and certified dive-master you will head out to sea onboard a semi-rigged 7.2m inflatable vessel in search of these enormous fish. Duration 1 – 2 hours out at sea.
