Kwandwe Private Game Reserve Guest Stories
Tell us about your journey and your thoughts and impressions of Africa.
It is always a pleasure to receive feedback on how the &Beyond experience has touched our guests. For many of them, a life-long love affair with Africa's wide open spaces and its incredible wildlife has started at one of our lodges across the continent. Others have formed lasting friendships with the warm and welcoming &Beyonders they have met on safari. Here is just a sample of the incredible comments we have been receiving from our guests staying at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.
Georgi Judd - ... wonderful
"Kwandwe was STUNNING - we loved every moment. We had rhino and giraffe walking past our room. We ate far too much - it's so difficult not to. The game sightings were great."
We saw most of the animals, save for male lion and leopard, but that's not a biggie. We both absolutely loved it and spending six days was such a treat! The people were stunning and made us feel so special, the cuisine was excellent and our room was top class.
Stephanie Starr - 2 Kills - One Day!
"My husband and I went to Kwandwe for our honeymoon and had a more wonderful time than we could have ever imagined. Besides the amazing people, the amazing food and the amazing lodge, we got to see some spectacular things on our safari drives."
The one day that stands out among the rest was the day we saw two kills. First, in the morning we saw a small pride of lions take down a HUGE male kudu. Our ranger made the moment that much more exciting by getting us close to the lions eating their kill. Then, later that day, we went to check on a family of cheetah. The five cubs were just under a year old and were looking hungry. We watched them for almost an hour as they moved through the bush towards a herd of impala and there they chased the impala, narrowly missing them until one confused impala turned and ran directly into the five cheetahs left behind by the one who scared the impala in the first place! Again, we were able to get close to the animals as they had their dinner. I still can't believe we got to see such amazing moments in one day!
Raymond Underwood - A Walk on the Wild Side
"After a wonderful early trip into the bush and seeing rhino, lion and hundreds of antelope we came back for a rest in our private lodge and pool after a superb lunch."
We set off for the sundowner safari in the early evening and what was a beautiful sunny afternoon became the most torrential thunderstorm I have ever experienced. Bouncing along in an open topped cruiser with lightning overhead, rolling black clouds and kudu sitting from bush to bush was scary, yet strangely exhilarating. For us, it took the luxury of the lodge to the reality of the African bush. Amazing.
Davies, Monika - Amazing!
"we have been to quite a few &Beyond lodges but the wildlife here is so different and Amazing! and so is the food which is so well presented."
I've never seen a brown hyaena and not even springbok! Since Kwa Zulu Natal dos not have these animals. The black rhino sightings were Amazing and after a while it was like ''Okay, we have seen enough of these black rhinos, lets move onto those cheetahs!!'' Our ranger and tracker were really Amazing , and new their stuff. They could spot things with thier bare eyes that i couldnt even spot with my binoculars! So our general thought of the lodge, rooms, animals and food was... AMAZING!
Richard Womersley - AN UNBELIEVABLE 40TH AT KWANDWE
