Chobe Under Canvas Guest Stories
It is always a pleasure to receive feedback on how the &Beyond experience has touched our guests. For many of them, a life-long love affair with Africa's wide open spaces and its incredible wildlife has started at one of our lodges across the continent. Others have formed lasting friendships with the warm and welcoming &Beyonders they have met on safari. Here is just a sample of the incredible comments we have been receiving from our guests staying at Chobe Under Canvas.
Chris Powers - An Extraordinary Experience
AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE
"Chobe Under Canvas was an extraordinary experience. I am so very glad that we did it! Again, the ranger (Dichon) was fabulous. Robson took excellent care of us and we were quite impressed with how he runs the camp and the delicious food. "
Chobe Under Canvas is not for everyone and I think it may get confused by folks expecting Under Canvas to be the more permanent sites. So, I would encourage clients to really do their homework to be sure they know what they are doing when they sign up for Chobe----but we loved, loved it and wouldn't trade it for a minute.
Guest - Beyond our expectations
BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS
"Every minute we spent with &Beyond on our honeymoon was just amazing and beyond our expectations. African safari experiences were of course very exciting for us first timers, but the hospitality and the quality of all &Beyond lodges/staff are our most memorable components of the trip."
Matetsi - cannot have been so fabulous without your amazing staff and the last night's famous honeymoon special!! It made our Matetsi experience unforgettable for sure. Chobe Under Canvas - never stayed in a tent camping before, so it was very interesting. Great camping location and layout so you get to speak with other guests and become almost like a big family when you leave. Sandibe - best lodge in the jungle! Staff, food, atmosphere... everything was so great! We LOVE our honeymoon presents (named wrist bands) Thank you so much again for your help in creating the best honeymoon ever and we look forward to getting in touch with you again.
Letizia Ray - Exciting
"We had a wonderful stay at Chobe; it was the closest we ever came to real wilderness."
At night the animals were all around us. We could hear them snorting and passing gas. The trees around us would be shaken and uprooted sometimes by the elephants. We saw so many hippo and buffalo. It was very exciting.
Guest - In the heart of the bush
IN THE HEART OF THE BUSH
"It was great to spend time at Chobe Under Canvas - I thought the whole idea and concept worked really well. I loved the idea that you were in the heart of the bush surrounded by wildlife and big game and still able to sleep in luxury comfort. I thought the tents were beautiful and were so well equipped. I especially noted the &Beyond concept which was carried out throughout the camp....."
with the dark wood furnishings and all the leather accessories which certainly added a personal touch. I thought the food was delicious and made even more so when you appreciated that you were in the middle of the bush with nothing but basic cooking amenities! The main tent was stunning with crisp white linen table cloth - very elegant and fantastic service to go with it. Please pass on my thanks to my guide Joe who looked after me -he was very friendly and hospitable to me and all guests and made everyone feel very relaxed and welcome.
Ben & Molly Lawder - More than comfortable
MORE THAN COMFORTABLE
BEN & MOLLY LAWDER
"We spent two nights at &Beyond's Chobe Under Canvas camp in northern Botswanta. We loved that it was so small and personal (only about 10 guests a night and about 8 staff members) - we got to interact with all of the other guests and guides. This was certainly the most primitive of our five safari camps/lodges on our honeymoon, it was more than comfortable for us. "
Each tent had a king bed and all of showers were hot and refreshing. We saw lions, a leopard, baboons, buffaloes, and TONS of elephants. We especially liked the boat ride on afternoon where we saw elephants swimming, crocodiles lurking, and monkeys playing near the water. The sunset was spectacular. Given the size of the camp, remote location, and mobile setup (the entire camp moves every 3-4 days), food options here were a little more limited than other camps but still very delicious.
