This safari begins at Cape Town International Airport and ends at Port Elizabeth Airport.

DAY 1 - 3: CAPE TOWN

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will help you with the collection of your rental vehicle.

With Table Mountain at its heart and two oceans at its feet, the city of Cape Town lies at the south-western tip of Africa. Vibrant, cosmopolitan and an eclectic mix of old and new, this laid-back city is as much at home with its 17th century castle (whose cannons have never been fired in anger) as it is with its sleek skyscrapers and trendy malls. Home to South Africa's first mosque, oldest wine farm, a 350-year-old garden and timelessly beautiful beaches, it's no surprise the legendary Flying Dutchman and his spectral ship have spent eternity sailing the city's shores.

Day 4 & 5: Knysna

Make your way to the stunning Pezula Resort Hotel and Spa in Knysna, where you will stay for two blissful nights.

From its forests where elephants still roam to lagoons filled with oysters, many things have made Knysna famous. This beautiful town is surrounded by rolling hills and a huge lagoon guarded jealously at the entrance to the sea by two massive cliff faces known as ‘The Heads’. Here, in the heart of South Africa’s renowned Garden Route, visitors are spoilt for choice with the perfect mix of fun-filled and tranquil adventures. Browse through quaint handicrafts stores or soak up the sun on Bollard Beach, taunt your taste buds at an award-winning restaurant, hike through an enchanting forest or stand face-to-face with graceful giants at the Knysna Elephant Park, the choices are seemingly endless.

Your stay includes full continental or English breakfast, use of the Hot Spa area (steam room, sauna, rain shower, heated indoor swimming pool), use of the gym facilities, 24-hour Internet access in the business centre, tea and coffee in your room with daily homemade rusks and use of the shuttle service on the Pezula Private Estate.

Day 6 - 9: Kwandwe Private Game Reserve

Head inland to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, where you will stay for four nights at Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve lies in the heart of the malaria-free Eastern Cape. A conservation victory, Kwandwe's diverse 22 000 hectares (54 360 acres) are home to thousands of animals, including lion, black and white rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah. Meaning 'place of the blue crane' in Xhosa, Kwandwe is a haven for a population of these rare, highly endangered birds. A melting pot of various vegetation types, the Reserve boasts a spectacular display of winter flowering aloes from June to August. The Great Fish River meanders through this pristine, private wilderness.

Your stay includes all meals, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on game drives, laundry, safari activities, one-hour nature walks accompanied by experienced armed trackers (subject to availability) and emergency medical evacuation insurance.
