This adventure begins and ends at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
DAY 1 & 2: SABI SAND GAME RESERVE
On arrival at O R Tambo International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will assist you through passport control and baggage claim, as well as with your onward travel arrangements where you have the choice to board a light aircraft flight or take a private transfer to &Beyond Leadwood Lodge within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve where you will stay for two nights.
An
exclusive and intimate haven within the African wilderness, Leadwood
Lodge is as peacefully enticing as it is luxuriously beautiful. Shaded
by Jackalberry and Leadwood trees, four exclusively luxurious suites
overlook spectacular views of the Sand River. Indulge in blissful
solitude and serenity within your cool, crisp and luxuriously
comfortable suite, private plunge pool or in the lodge guest area in
between intimate encounters with the wild as you track the Big Five and
elusive leopard during daily game drives and nature walks accompanied by
experienced and armed guides and trackers.
Your stay includes accommodation in a suite, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on game drives, laundry, safari activities, 1-hour nature walks accompanied by experienced armed trackers (subject to availability), and transfers to and from the lodge airstrip.
Day 3 & 4: Madikwe Game Reserve
Today you will travel onwards to Madikwe Game Reserve either by pre-arranged shuttle flight to O R Tambo International Airport then to Jamala Madikwe Royal Safari Lodge or by scheduled / private road transfer.
A diverse combination of bushveld and the semi-arid Kalahari, the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve boasts the Super Seven, adding cheetah and the endangered African wild dog to the already famous Big Five. Madikwe is famed for Operation Phoenix, the world’s largest game translocation exercise, successfully introducing more than 8 000 animals of 28 species, including lion, elephant, buffalo and white rhino, since 1991. The Madikwe region is rich in history, having seen the passage of the famed warrior Mzilikazi, as well as explorers, traders and missionaries that included Dr David Livingstone and Sir Cornwallis Harris.
Relax for two nights in a villa at Jamala Madikwe Royal Safari Lodge. Your stay includes accommodation in a villa, all meals, complimentary welcome drinks, all local drinks (including a selection of house wines), teas and coffees, twice daily game drives and transport between the lodge and the airstrip, if required.
Day 5: Departure
Today you will return to O R Tambo International Airport, where your adventure with us will end.
