From Leopards to Lighthouses
9 Days / 8 Nights
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This safari begins at O R Tambo International Airport and ends at Cape Town International Airport.
DAY 1 - 4: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will assist you with your onward journey to Kruger National Park.
Renowned the world over, this massive reserve stretches 350km from north to south and 60km in breadth. Home to the Big 5, 510 bird, 147 mammal, 114 reptile, 49 fish and 34 amphibian species, the park today is as wild as the Africa of old. A true nature lover, President Paul Kruger managed - despite fierce opposition - to obtain an area, which could be set aside for the purposes of conservation, in 1898. Known as the Sabie Game Reserve, local police were responsible for protecting game. They were not successful though and in 1902, Major James Stevenson-Hamilton was appointed warden. A long struggle between hunters and Stevenson-Hamilton ensued and it was only in 1926 when the National Parks Act was passed, that Sabie was renamed and became a safe-haven for wildlife.
Stay for four nights at Singita Lebombo Lodge. Your stay includes accommodation in a suite, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, teas, coffees, two open Land Rover safaris a day and walking safaris, all drinks (including premium wines, spirits and liqueurs excluding champagnes) and return surface transfers between Singita airstrip and the lodge.
Day 5 - 8: Cape Town
Make your way to Cape Town where you will stay for four nights at Tintswalo Atlantic, a seaside haven with spectacular ocean views.
With Table Mountain - one of the most spiritual places on earth - at its heart and two oceans at its feet, the city of Cape Town, strategically situated at the south-western tip of Africa, has been famed for centuries as the Tavern of the Seas. Vibrant, cosmopolitan and an eclectic mix of old and new, this laid-back city is as much at home with its 17th century castle - whose cannons have never been fired in anger - as it is with its sleek skyscrapers and trendy malls. Home to South Africa’s first Mosque, oldest wine farm, a 350 year-old garden and timelessly beautiful beaches, it’s no surprise the legendary Flying Dutchman and his spectral ship have spent eternity sailing the city’s shores.
Your stay includes accommodation in an island suite, breakfast, teas and coffees, afternoon tea and cake, as well as house drinks (excluding French Champagne and premier brands).
Day 9: Departure
Make your way back to Cape Town International Airport where your journey with us will end.
