Day by Day - Cape Courses
Self Drive Safari 8 Days / 7 Nights
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This safari begins and ends at Cape Town International Airport.
DAY 1 - 2: CAPE TOWN
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will assist you through passport control and will drive you to your hotel. Your rental car will be delivered the following day.
With Table Mountain at its heart and two oceans at its feet, the city of Cape Town is strategically positioned at the south-western tip of Africa. Vibrant, cosmopolitan and an eclectic mixture of old and new, this laid-back city is as much at home with its 17th century castle as it is with its sleek skyscrapers and trendy malls. The city also boasts South Africa's first mosque, its oldest wine farm, a 350-year-old castle and timelessly beautiful beaches.
Unwind for seven nights in a standard luxury room at the Steenberg Hotel. Your stay includes breakfast, complimentary shuttles, wine tasting and cellar tour, as well as port and sherry.
Day 3: Cape Town
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at the Clovelly Golf Club.
Clovelly is famous for its rolling fairways, undulating holes and magnificent landscaping. Sand dunes abound on the course, which has natural water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora. Both course and clubhouse enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the warm waters of False Bay. The course is a tight par 72, with a testing blend of holes, the Silvermine River and adjacent ponds.
Day 4: Cape Town
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at De Zalze Golf Club.
Set among working vineyards, De Zalze is also located on one of the premier golf estates in South Africa. Offering a fine mixture of parkland holes, the course follows the oak-lined banks of the Blaauwklippen River, which is cleverly incorporated into the water features on several of the holes. The Cape Dutch clubhouse makes the most of the spectacular views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains.
Day 5: Cape Town
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at the Steenberg Golf Course.
Rated as one of the top three courses in South Africa, the Steenberg Golf Club lies in the crook of the Constantiaberg Mountains. The 18-hole championship course meanders leisurely through the Steenberg vineyards, pine forests and gentle waterways, covering four distinct areas - wetlands, parklands, Cape flats and fynbos vegetation.
Day 6: Cape Town
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at Milnerton Golf Club.
The 18-hole Milnerton Golf Course is surrounded by natural beauty. Tucked between the Atlantic Ocean and the RietVlei River, the lush links-type course is relatively flat, with few trees. Water hazards abound, with the sea and lagoon bordering most holes and seven beautiful water holes waiting to claim wayward shots. Spectacular views of Table Mountain from almost every hole and the sound of the waves breaking on the shore just metres away create a relaxing golfing experience.
Day 7: Cape Town
Enjoy 18 holes of golf at the Royal Cape Golf Club.
Almost every hole of this championship golf course offers scenic views of Table Mountain. The course itself has an immaculately maintained parklands layout that presents a number of challenges. The fairways are narrow, demanding extreme accuracy off the tee, wayward shots are heavily penalised among the trees and the greens are well bunkered. An additional obstacle is offered by the abundance of water on the course.
Day 8: Departure
After a delicious breakfast, drive to Cape Town International Airport, where you will drop off your rental car and catch your return flight.
