Expressions in Botswana
7 days / 6 nights
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This adventure begins and ends at Maun Airport in Botswana.
DAY 1 - 2: SAVUTE REGION, CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will direct you onto your light aircraft flight to Savute Airstrip.
Some of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Southern Africa are found in the Savute area. Situated in the famous Chobe National Park on the border of the Okavango Delta, Savute is best known for its channel, which mysteriously fills up and dries up periodically. Savute supports the greatest concentration of the king of all beasts - the lion.
Spend two nights in a luxury tent situated on a raised wooden deck under thatch at Savute Elephant Camp. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry and park fees. Lodge adventures include twice-daily game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle.
Day 3 - 4: Moremi Wildlife Reserve
Hop aboard a light aircraft for your flight to the Moremi.
The only proclaimed wildlife reserve in the Okavango Delta, Moremi contains about a quarter of the Okavango's breathtaking waterways, islands and lagoons. It is widely regarded as one of Botswana's most beautiful reserves. Game viewing is excellent year round.
Indulge in two nights in a luxury thatched tent at Khwai River Lodge. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry and park fees. Daily adventures include game drives, guided walking safaris, evening drives and fantastic birdwatching. Community visits may also be booked.
Day 5 - 6: Okavango Delta
Another light aircraft flight will take you into the Okavango Delta.
A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and lush islands the Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Known as "the river that never finds the sea", crystal clear channels spread over the thirstlands of the Kalahari with their papyrus fringed banks and fertile floating islands. Adapted for a life in and out of water, the elegant red lechwe and shy sitatunga are found in this watery wilderness, while hippo inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons.
Relax for two nights in a luxury tent at Eagle Island Camp. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry, daily lodge activities and park fees. Adventures include twice-daily game drives, guided walks, mokoro (dugout canoe) adventures in the Delta and excellent birdwatching. Scenic helicopter flights are also available.
Day 7: Departure
After a scrumptious breakfast you will board a light aircraft flight and return to Maun Airport.
