The Tanzanite Experience

Learn about socially responsible tanzanite mining at the Tanzanite Experience Mine Visitor Centre. A qualified geologist will give a presentation before you descend into the mine to explore one of the shafts.
Slave routes of Zanzibar

Start at the Dhow Harbour in Malindi, where slave ships brought their cargo and the house of Tippu Tip, a notorious slave trader. Visit the Anglican Church on the old slave market site.
